Our Story
Endearingly nicknamed “The Palace”, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa was a pioneer in the hospitality industry when it first opened in 1980. The 40-acre oceanfront oasis was recognized as one of the first destination resorts in the world, offering a new type of travel experience. Hyatt Regency Maui’s impressive half-acre pool was the largest and most elaborate pool in Hawai‘i at the time of completion, featuring cascading waterfalls, rope bridge, and 150-ft waterslide. Lush ornate gardens, meandering pathways, exotic wildlife, and an extensive international art collection provided guests with surprise and delight at every turn. Travelers from all over the world came to visit to enjoy fun and relaxation without ever having to leave the resort.
